HAPPY BIRTHDAY CAMPING
We just got back from my annual birthday camping trip with my parents. Fun and relaxation was had by all.

As usual the Westy is a HUGE draw for the kids. Sara is ready to take off and go for a drive. "Where to Grandma and Papa?"
Sydney and Sara loved to go for a little walk in the woods to see the chipmunks. Here is Sydney explaining why she can't come to eat breakfast. "I gotta creep up on a chipmunk Mom"

The girls were fascinated with the ants under the rocks. Those poor ants...they would just get settled down and then off would come the roof to their home. Sara thought it was all good fun until they started to crawl on her.
I made my famous smores. I tried to go fancy and use 80% cocoa chocolate. YUCK!!! Lord, that tasted like dirt. Luckily Pat suggested I buy some good ole' Hershey's Special Dark...just in case. Thank goodness, he saved the smores.
The girls LOVED the tent trailer. We are so comfortable in there. I slept with Sara and finally had to adjust her when she stared to kick me in the head while she was sleeping. She is very active in the night. Syd slept with Pat and treated him well.
Our camping neighbors where terribly loud and slammed car doors all night and had parties until 2 am. I tried to find compassion by thinking they just don't know....Pat was the realist by saying "they just don't care". It is truly hard to not want to do something terrible to them when you get up in the morning and the partiers are all sound asleep. Pat soothed himself with several loud unnecessary door slams.
Sydney begged both Grandma and Grandpa to tell her scary stories. Here is Mom telling her the story of Slippery and Lippery. I didn't really get the whole story but Syd sure liked it.
Grandpa is showing early signs of OMS (Old Man Syndrome)...squinty eyes, overall cantankoriousness and eating on his own schedule. (He ate fast food while driving to the campsite while we all waited to eat till he got there). Hmmmm? Grandpa is a popular lap around the campfire.
We found a private little sandy beach on Icicle Creek. Oh, boy was that water cold...achy cold. Just look at Pat!
The girls were thrilled to throw sand, rocks, bark, sticks and whatever else they could find into the water. I am such a happy Mom. I love my girls!!
The girls were so happy on the way home. I had to shoot some video of them singing along to some of their favorite music.
Great weekend. Thanks Mom and B. I love you.
Wonder where we will camp next year!
