Surprise! Day 1

We did it!!! We told the girls we are going to Disneyland! It was so much fun to surprise them. Syd jumped up and down. Sara took it in more slowly.
I overheard Syd talking to herself " don't worry! This is not a dream" and Sara told us later on that her thoughts were about to explode. I love it!!!

-On our way to the airport, not school!

We arrived!! The girls are still whirling. Syd says she can't take anymore joy.

Disney is all decorated for Halloween.

The front gate.

Syd isn't ready for Thunder Mountain Railroad yet so we are waiting on Dad and Sara.

I am satisfying my new mid life craving- hot dogs. I haven't liked them for 40 years and now at 41, I love em.

We are headed into one of our favorites, It's A Small World.

Yep! It's still the same song.

Sara goods around at Mickey's house.

Sara really wanted to go to the jailhouse. I am sure this won't be a trend.

Syd being extra brave for Goofy's Sky School rollercoaster.
This one had a drop in it that startled us all. It took Syd's scream away and we all had a good laugh.

I know this place is a man made amusement park and can't be compared to the wonders of nature. However, they do such a good job at making it magical for kids. Watching the girls experience things that amaze them and listening to their chatter bring tears to my eyes.
Sara loves to be scared and gets such pride that she can handle it. She skips and jumps with glee after every coaster ( looks like the Tower of Terror is in our near future with it's freefalls today). It a Small World dazzled Sara this time. She was pointing everywhere and wanting us to look in more directions than our head could turn.
Sydney LOVED Soaring Over California! She kept saying "it's so beautiful!"and then Yosemite appeared on the screen.....Fun!!!
We let her move at her own pace . Last night she said she was ready for Splash Mountain. So brave!

King Tritons Carousel is so pretty. Here is Sara on her carefully picked out whale.

We ended the night by watching the new show World of Color. It's like Bellagio Fountains meets fire, rainbows and Disney characters. Very cool.
Went to bed at 10. Girls were out in a second. Now ready for day 2.
